Mark Zukerberg in its announcement said, “Introducing Meta Pay and a digital wallet for the metaverse. Today we’re taking the first step by changing Facebook Pay to become Meta Pay. It’ll stay the same easy way to shop, send money, and donate to causes you care about on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and anywhere else you could use Facebook Pay. But beyond the current features, we’re working on something new: a wallet for the metaverse that lets you securely manage your identity, what you own, and how you pay.” Meta has rebranded Facebook Pay to Meta Pay to better align its payment service with its rebranding. You can shop, send money, and donate to causes you care about using Meta Pay in all of our platforms, including Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp, as well as wherever else you might have previously seen the Facebook Pay button while making purchases online. The functionalities and general user interface of Meta Pay will not change from Facebook Pay. This modification is starting in the US and will eventually spread throughout the entire world. Similar to Facebook Pay, Meta Pay will allow users to add their preferred payment method just once, then use it to make payments and purchases across our technologies and while buying online elsewhere, where it is supported.

In one location, you can manage payment options, view payment history, and modify settings. Get online chat or email support around-the-clock. Like Facebook Pay, Meta Pay protects your credit card information by encrypting it and securely storing it. It also runs anti-fraud checks on our systems to look for suspicious behaviour and tells you if it is found. To further safeguard every transaction, you may also set up a Meta Pay PIN or use the face or fingerprint recognition features on your device. There is no action necessary to begin utilising Meta Pay if you have previously configured Facebook Pay. Your existing Facebook Pay account data, payment method, and settings will all carry over to Meta Pay. It’s simple to set up if you’re new to Meta Pay. Click on the Payments settings. Then enter the details of your account and payment method. Along with PayPal and Shop Pay, Meta Pay accepts the majority of popular credit and debit cards.
